Hi
I work with a hp omnibook xt6200 and windows xp
professional. A strange problem occurred: The icons in the
system tray, taskbar and start menu become smaller and
smaller. In the end, they're just 1x1 pixel. (The desktop
icons work fine and stay the size they were originally).
The change happens gradually. More or less each time I
reboot, the icons are smaller than before. ??? Is it
possibly because of the screen resolution 1400x1050?
The problem also affects the icons of an open window
(minimize, maximize, close. upper right corner of an
active window)

I would appreciate any help that you could give me.
Thanks.

i'm not too sure about your problem - sounds very perculiar - i would say
that if the icons _are acctually_ getting smaller and smaller there is some
kind of conflict between your display/graphics drivers and the desktop
settings in XP.

i do however know that that res is massive and would certainly result in
smaller icons than "normal". I'm a graphic artist, therfore I need lots of
space to work with page layouts for digital and print jobs as well as space
for palettes etc but my resolution is only set to 1152 x 864.

i personally wouldn't really need any bigger than that. and if i did i would
probably invest in another monitor because obviously the higher the
resolution the less detail you can see.

maybe just reduce the res and see if it sorts its self out.

...b..

Thanks for the answer. It really is a peculiar problem..
Maybe I'll set down the resolution, after all. I found out
how to "reset" the icon size, but after some time, they
begin shrinking again. Very annoying. Problem with an
other resolution is, the screen is a flat screen and
therefore the picture is not as sharp with another
resolution.
