Taskbar: Hide Inactive Icons

For some reason, the "Hide Inactive Icons" feature on my Taskbar isn't
functioning. Hasn't been since yesterday.

The last time this happened, I did a System Restore and it brought it back.
But I don't want to do a Restore now because of some installations I did
recently.

My question is is it likely that the "Hide Inactive Icons" functionality
will return by itself, or is there something I can do, short of a System
Restore, that will accomplish this?

Thanks in advance for any help,
Rich
