taskbar height

All of sudden my task bar appears two rows high. How, please, may I change it back to one row height? I can make it larger, but not smaller.

First of all make sure the taskbar is not locked - right click on the task bar
and check that the locked Taskbar is not ticked.
Then place your cursor so that you get a double pointed cursor, once you have
that, then drag the Taskbar down.
