Taskbar Freezes while online, please help.

Everytime I log on to the Internet, my taskbar freezes
completely. All of the icons, including the clock, just
dissapear and I cannot even use my start icon. This has
been a big headache to me and it is very annoying. I know
this problem is related to Explorer because when I press
ctrl + alt + del to see the list of programs that are
running and when I close "Explorer" the taskbar goes back
to normal. Does anyone know what in the world is going on
with my taskbar when I am online and how I can fix it?
