My taskbar suddenly appeared at double height. I can use
the double headed arrow to increase the height of the
taskbar. But when I use the double headed arrows to
reduce the height again, it will only go to double
height, or no height at all. It will not return to
single height.

HI,

Right click the taskbar and uncheck lock taskbar. Then position your
mouse at the top of the taskbar and drag down until it reaches 1bar in
height. Right click and lock it back if you want.
I have the same problem... any answers your way yet?

All sub bars must be on one row of whatever height. If the bars are on different rows then the minimun height (when not hidden) will be the number of rows.

EG
Start Quick Launch Taskbar Notification Area
Start (as above) Quick Launch (as above) Taskbar (as above) Notification Area (as above)
will resize to any multiple of 1. If more than 1 then each section is same height.

This will resize a minimun of 2.

Start Taskbar Notification Area
Start (as above) Quick Launch Notification Area (as above)
