Taskbar buttons

If someone could help me, I cannot get open window buttons to show up on the taskbar. I have Quick Launch Buttons, Language buttons, but I cannot restore the open window buttons to the taskbar. When I minimize an open window, it disappears and I have to go to task manager to reopen the window, or switch to it. Anyone?
