I am having an issue with an XP SP1 computer on my network. Everytime the
computer reboots the task scheduler does not start automatically. I have it
set as automatic and to restart the service on recovery. The SchedLgU.txt
says 0x800706b8: The endpoint cannot be created. I could write a login
script to make sure it is started after logon because it does start if you
go in and start it but I would rather it work by itself. Any clues?

The Task Scheduler comes bundled with IE6. You could try
re-installing IE6.
