Hi,
I have been unsuccessfully trying to setup a scheduled backup using task
scheduler.
It will not run a NT Backup job, nor a batch file that runs a NT Backup job.
The batch file runs manually and successfully but not through task scheduler.
Even manually trying to run the scheduled task in task scheduler results in
little but "Could not start".
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Cameron

It may need Administrative rights to run. Right click on the shortcut, select
Properties and enter Administrator or user with Admin rights and password to Run
As.

Test the shortcut by double clicking on it.

Hi David,
My problem is that I have set the job up as administrator, with the correct
password.
Any further suggestions?

Thanks
Cameron

You say that you set the job up as administrator, but did you actually enter the
admin name and password in the Run As section of the shortcut?

If yes and still no joy, there should be some clues in your Event Viewer logs.

Hi David,
Yes I have...

Also I had changed the administrator's password recently, and upon changing
it back to the original password, task scheduler will now run.

The server was a special build from an application vendor, and obviously
there are other dependencies on the original administrator password.

Thanks very much for all your assistance.
