Task Scheduler Fails to Start

The Task Scheduler service will not start. It is set to
use the Local System account and to allow interaction with
the desktop. The error message is:

Could not start the Task Scheduler on Local System.
Error 1720. The endpoint cannot be created.

Any ideas or elucidations? Thanks!
