Hi,
First: I am a complete novice to creating custom forms in Outlook. I've noticed there's an option to "View Source" or "View Code" when designing forms. Do I need to be able to edit the source code or can I work just by dragging and dropping from the "Field Chooser" and editing properties?
Second: I think I want a form that is based on the Task Request form but with a little more detail. I produce various marketing materials for the catering department of a local authority. Our team of supervisors request various items from me but this tends to be through a combination of emails, phone calls, handwritten notes etc. I would like to make things a little more organised by creating a system where they submit an order through Outlook that would automatically appear in my Tasks list with all the relevant information and deadlines.
I don't feel the basic "Task Request" provides quite the right information for the type of orders I want to receive, so I thought about hiding the main pane and using the second pane to set up an order form which includes the relevant information for me. I would also like to "lock" the "To" address so that orders can ONLY be sent to me. Is this feasible and relatively easy to do? Do you have any suggestions for better/easier ways of doing this?
I have had one failed attempt at this but whenever I received the task request it said that there were some "invalid parameters" and it wouldn't let me accept, decline or delete the request.
To be honest, I don't need the option of accepting or declining ... I don't have the luxury of being able to decline, although I will need to be able to edit the due dates!
Please help!
P.S. The attached Word doc gives an idea of what I would like to include on the Task order form.
