the truth is coming out!! one of the kids deleted some of the running apps.
on the task mngr.-- is there a list of sorts as to which should be running in
order for all programs to load when windows xp sp2 is started up. "also
questioned on 8/29-- xp starts up, but will not load" (concerning same
problem)

if something in task
manager gets "deleted"
then it will can be
restarted when
windows boots up,
if it is system related.

if it is a regular software
that was ended, then it
can be restarted by launching
the program via desktop or
program files.

for example: you can
end the process called
explorer.exe

then restart it by selecting
new task and running
explorer.exe

explorer.exe will reload
your desktop, if your system
is functional.

I don't think he/she *deleted* the app -- it was merely shut down.

Go to Start > Run > Type 'Msconfig' > Startup to see what programs load at
startup.
