I revently purchased a hp pavilion 5200 laptop computer.
The computer was a floor model at Best Buy. Apperently
when it was a floor model someone set-up an administrator
account and protected it with a password. My log-on name
is also set to administrator. Every time I attempt to open
task manager via ctrl alt delete and the program icon
located in the windows folder. Every time I attempt to
open the file I recieve a message stateing that the
administrator has disabled task manager. The
administrative account that I did not creat fails to
appear on the log-on screen when you boot the computer and
my be accessed by pressing ctrl alt delete while on the
log-on screen.

There's only supposed to be one account in XP named Administrator and the
system usually prevents a user from creating another account by that name.
I can only assume, the account on your system created by Best Buy is some
sort of retailer convenience or some other proprietary option. Your best
bet for resolving this is to have Best Buy take look at it.

Gabriel,

Task Manager has been disabled by your administrator:
