shut programs down etc, its really bugging me when a
program freezes and it cant be shut down?
Thanks if anyone knows the answer

Hi, K.

What happens if you double-click on the left or right margin of that Task
Manager window? I've forgotten what this minimal view is called, but it's
easy to get there by accident - and hard to find the explanation and cure
for it. :>(

Greetings --

You're running Task Manager in "Small Footprint Mode." Simply
double-click anywhere along the top or side borders to return to a
normal view. Alternatively, pressing <Ctrl>+<Tab> will allow you to
cycle between the various displays, and <Alt>+<F4> will close it.
