Task Manager Problem

Can someone help?? My task manager used to pop up for a second and close, and now it doesn't show up at all... I read all the other posts and followed all of the directions on those posts, but my virus checker found no virus and there was no worm on my computer either. I read almost every post in the windows website about the task manager for XP, and I still cannot fix my problem. I have an updated, current version of NOrton Antivirus and i ran multiple scans on my comp, even with the system restore disabled. Can someoen help me please??
 
You can try going to www.cnet.com and get Spybot
It may help find the stuff nortons not.
