Task Manager not loading

Has anyone ever encountered a problem with Task Manager,
Msconfig, or even Regedit (perhaps all three) from
loading when launched? I've encountered so many people
with this problem. Once it was due to a program running
by name of AMD64.exe but geesh... this has been at least
4 times now and it wasn't AMD64 on the other 3 times.
Cleanboot doesn't seem to matter. It works fine in
Safemode. Spyware removal using Spybot, Ad-aware, and MS
Antispyware doesn't help. The only thing that I didn't
do with these guys was an online virus scan such as
TrendMicro's. Has anyone ever seen this before?

This sure sounds like a possible virus symptom to me.

You might prefer to use Trend Micro's System Cleaner rather than the online
scan

You get the SYSCLEAN package from here:

http://www.trendmicro.com/download/dcs.asp

and then the latest pattern file from here:
http://www.trendmicro.com/download/pattern.asp
which you unzip in the same folder as the sysclean package. Then run it.
