Task Manager & Cmd.exe

The Task Manager on my Windows XP Professional computer
refuses to run, as well as the Command Box (a.k.a. DOS
box). When I try to run them, they load, display their
Window briefly, and then exit.

I've tried re-installing Windows XP, but that did not help.

Does anyone have any idea how to get these programs
running again?

Look under "T" for Task Manager
You may also have a virus.
