task bar icon

on my old computer which also had xp there was a small
microsoft icon on the taskbar which reminded me when
windows updates came out and I just had to click on it
and the update would aout download. is their a way I can
put that feature on my new computer?
 
open up system properties and in the 'automatic updates' tab configure how
you want the updates to work, asking windows to notify you before installing
any updates places the icon your talking about on your task bar when windows
finds any available updates for your system.
