I have a laptop with office 2000 on it. It had a virus
and after the virus was cleaned off everything seemed to
work fine except for excel. We could not open files
fromthe filee option, if we doulbe clicked on an excel
frile from the My Documents folder a file would open, but
then if we went to Save As... it just gave us the option
to overwrite the existing file, not to save it as a
different file name. So we formatted and resinstalled
windows 98 and Office 2000. We moved the documents back
into the My Documents folder and we are still getting the
same result. If we try to preview an open document, it
tells us no printer is installed. If we click on the
preview icon or open document icon on the task bar nothing
happens. This is now a fresh install of both programs.
If we copy an excel file to a floppy and copy it to
another computer, everything works fine. Any suggestions?
