task bar does not show opened windows

when i open a window it does not appear on my task bar and when i minimize
that window I need to use ALT+Tab to bring it on the screen again..anyone has
a solution
 
i downloaded the vbs file and double click on it then it asks me which
program to use to run this file.. i opened it with notepad. how can I make
the changes in the registry??
 
The program name is "Microsoft Windows Based Script Host" not "Notepad".
Right-click on the file again and choose Open With - Choose Program - click
Browse button (if the program is not in the list) - and move to your
\Windows\System32 directory and file name is "WScript.exe".
