I am running windows xp home ed. All of a sudden, my task bar is not showing
any tasks that have been minimized.

I have checked the task bar dialogue box in the control panel, but I don't
see the problem there.

Any help would be greatly appreciated????

I am having the same problem. When I minimize a window it disappears. I
tried the link that you posted clicking on line 240 but it says a malicious
script is detected. Did you use this link? Did it work? Why is it
impossible to get an answer from Microsoft? For the money they make you
think you could just type in a questions and get an email right back with an
answer!

Help!!

Hi,

Kelly's scripts are quite safe. I have used them, and so have thousands of
others. Note the warning she has taken the time to post at the top of the
page, as what you are seeing is quite normal:

"NOTE: If your anti-virus software warns you of a "malicious" script, this
is normal if you have "Script Safe" or similar technology enabled. These
scripts are not malicious, but they do make changes to the System Registry."

Your anti-virus software doesn't look at scripts individually,
but just treats them all as possibly malicious. In this case,
Rick has recommended one of Kelly's scripts. These are among the
most well-known and widely used scripts and and you have little
to fear in using any of them.

Thanks so much for your help. Do you know what causes XP to do this? I
update my virus definitions daily and run a full scan weekly but nothing
shows that I have spyware or anything like that. Did one of the windows
updates change the settings for my taskbar?

Normally it's due to corruption of the stuckrects registry key, which holds
settings for the taskbar. Kelly's script deletes it and the system builds a
new one to replace it, resetting the taskbar in the process.
