In my Internet explorer i get several words that are
underlined as "search.targetwords.com" and when you click
on them they take you to a search page. Many times these
target words are part of a link I want to go to but if it
has a targetword it goes there instead of the desired
link. I emptied all my cookies and searched for a
program called targetwords but have had no luck. Does
anyone know how to turn it off?
thank you very much!

Sounds lik your browser has been hijacked.
Use this program:
CWShredder
http://aumha.org/downloads/cwshredder.zip

Then get both of these programs, Download, immediately check for UPDATES
(you do this to insure you have the latest definitions, the programs are
updated almost daily), then scan your computer for Spyware. BE SURE TO READ
THE HELP/FAQ SECTIONS AT BOTH SITES BEFORE YOU SCAN.
Spybot - http://www.safer-networking.org - FAQ, Help & Forum @ Site.
Ad-aware - http://www.lavasoft.de/ - FAQ, Help & Forum @ Site.

Once your computer is clean, go to Windows Update.
Windows Updates - Update Windows regularly (at the very least once a
month) - ALWAYS download Critical Updates. You can set your computer for
automatic updates if you prefer.
