when doing a google search i came up with close to nothing. maybe i am
wording it wrong. who knows? anyways, my question is what would cause a
back up tape drive to not accept the cassette as in the cassette won't go in
all the way? it worked fine last week but now, it just doesn't seem to
glide in the tape drive and click on kinda like a floppy that just doesn't
drop in like normal. what are the reasons this would happen and is it
fixable? any help would be appreciated! thanks in advanced!

Thanks Bob I! I appreciate you taking the time and replying! Of course,
not the answer I was looking for but that's what it seems to boil down to.

The usual cause for such an action is that the tape heads have not been
properly retracted. This is a mechanical fault which possibly can be fixed
by a physical eject button or on-screen eject icon, etc. If the head does
not retract, then servicing will be required, if it is still available.
