i need to wire a tape deck to computer, do i need special software and what
socket do i use its doing my head in trying to sort it?

No.

Connect your lineout (or headphones if you don't havea line out, but keep
the volume low) from the tapedeck to your line in of your soundcard. Select
"Aux" or "line in " as your sound source and off you go.

thank you for advice ive got it sussed now, ive mi tapes on mi phone now its
ace.. cheers again....
