Taming Windows Explorer?

D

This is a relatively new problem. For both my CD/DVD drives I have gone to
Properties -> Auto Play and for every choice in the combo box I have
selected Take no action. Yet when I put in a data DVD, Windows still pops
up "Open folder to view files." I want to run a VBA macro on the DVD, and
it is annoying to have to close this window first for every DVD.

One problem may be the files are flac files. While these are music files,
this is an extension that Windows may not recognize as music, so it may be
placing them into a category that does not appear on the combo box
selection.

Don:

For what it's worth, the "Take no action" box has never
worked here either - for CD's with mixed media + general
file junk on them.

I like your idea of "what does Explorer do when it encounters
an unregistered file type" explanation - that has never ocurred
to me before.

Don't know how to fix it, tho.
