Tally no. of "VName" in column C and "Owner" in column M

I have a large spread sheet with names and addresses of
folks that live in our age restricted community.

Column A=first name.
Column B=last name (contains buiider's name).
Column E contains the "Village" name.

On a summary page, I am totaling the number of addresses
for each of the Villages (occurences of a village name in
column E). =COUNTIF(Addresses!E2:E5196,"Arroyo Vista")

I would like to know the number of addresses in each
village (Col E) that still contains the builder's name
(Col B), but can't seem to get the right formula.

I suggest using a pivot table for summarising this. Have a look at Data /
Pivot Table.
