Talking on a network

Hello.

We have 3 pc's running on a network allowing us to share
files etc..

Without using msn messenger, is there a way I can "Chat or
talk" to the other computer users on this network? With a
chat window etc.

This question has been asked in "alt.comp.freeware" and there are a number
freeware programs out there.
