taking possession of a haard drive

Hi,
My windows xp home hdd crashed. I have it in a usb cradle and am able to
retrieve data from one of my profiles docs and sttings etc. My other profile
has a password, I can't find anywhere to input my password to get access to
my folders. I heard there is a way to take possession of the hard drive so I
can get into my folders.
