Good evening,

I am in Canada and would like to help someone in England with a computer
issue. Is there a way I can take control of their computer with their
permission of course. We both use Windows XP.

Thank you.

Don't want to use "Remote Assistance"?

UltraVNC
http://ultravnc.sourceforge.net/

TightVNC
http://www.tightvnc.com/

*Note* - you still need to know how to properly configure any firewall
(software or hardware) and any router/NAT device you have to allow these
products to work.

This site may offer the right software for you to provide remote
assistance over the web: http://www.4remotesupport.com . They have a
remote IT support package that will do what you are looking to do but
simpler than Microsoft's remote assistance and easier to configure than
the tight or ultra. A friend has used it to help me and I thought it
was quite handy since it was much easier to watch her fix my desktop
than talking me through troubleshooting it.

Cheers
