Taking a long time to import picture

When I import a picture or transition to my story board it take about 30
seconds to load each time. What can I do to make this work faster?

Maintenance and possibly more RAM.

Running Disk Cleanup, Error Checking and
Defrag on a regular schedule is a good idea.
