taking a clip from a dvd and putting it on powerpoint

I need to put a movie clip in my powerpoint presentation
and don't know where to begin. I have approval from the
studio to use the clip and a copy of the dvd. Can someone
walk me through it, both getting the clip as well as
getting it into the presentation?

It would help if you tell us what version of PPT you are using. In XP PPT
you go to Insert, Movies and Sound, and then Movie from file.

Before doing so you'd need to extract the movie or a clip from the DVD.
I'd recommend looking at www.digital-digest.com to get some pointers.
