We are having an issue with an important part of our company's website, which
uses the Microsoft Tabualr Data Control (TDC). This error is happening for
anyone using Windows 2000 and IE 6.0.28. XP users and beyond are not having
any issues. When users, with Windows 2000 and the latest IE version (6.0.28)
try to access this control, IE crashes and causes a restart of the browser.

This is becoming a critical error for us and looking for any suggestions on
how to fix/rectify this issue. All comments are welcome.

TIA

Hi illeracula.

Any error message. Is .Net installed on the win2k machines(unlikely cause)?

Is there a version difference between what is installed on the XP and Win2K
machines.

Regards.

Hey Rob thanks for your reply.

We are not receiving any errors, outside of the the "Microsft has
encountered a problem and needs to close" error box. Looking at that
information is useless for me.

..Net was not installed this morning, but we did install it, in hopes that it
would help us debug, and that did not help, for we still receive the error
message. This was not an issue 2-3 weeks ago, so its fairly new.

Win2K is using IE 6.0.28 WinXP is using IE 6.0.29, thats the only
difference. I think, I will need to verify, but 6.0.28 is the highest version
available for win2k.

Any ideas? Where to look? Anything?
Thanks again.

Hi Illeracula,

Where to look....

Versions of the control differences. Missing dependencies on the win2K
machines.
Object definition in the source code. Is the codebase value being blocked by
Hosts or a firewall.
ActiveX Kill bit settings for the tab control or any of its dependencies...

I am sorry I am not using the control immediately, so these are mostly
guesses.

Regards.
