Tablet pen stops working

I am having a problem with Fujitsu ST5020D tablets with Win XP Tablet
PC edition, sp2...pens stop working "on the fly".
The tablets can then be docked and the mouse and keyboard will be
useable, but the pen will not come back until tablet is rebooted.
- reinstalled dirvers
- replaced pens
- substituted with new tablet
- removed 2.4 Ghz devices (interference)
- no other devices being used when pen drops, except Linksys wireless
card
- there are sbp2port error messages, tried a reghack that was
unsuccessful.
