I am wondering if this version is like XP professional
where I can run IIS and application web servers like cold
fusion or if this is like Home where it is not available?

thanks,
Adam

Please try your question on the tabletpc newsgroup.

Tablet PC XP Version is a superset of Windows XP Professional,
therfore it has all the components of XP Pro including IIS.

WinXP Tablet PC Edition is a superset of WinXP Pro. This means
that WinXP Tablet PC Edition can do everything WinXP Pro can do, plus
has the additional functionality necessary for the proper functioning
of a Tablet.

Yeah, that's true but does the tabletpc hardware support running as a web
server? That doesn't mean that the applications won't run, I'm just
questioning if a tabletpc can fully function in that regard which was why I
directed the question to the tabletpc newsgroup.

Since a TabletPC is a PC and has PC/Laptops components (Memory, CPU, Disk,
networking) there is no reason to assume that it will not support running a
Web Server application.
The only caveats are around the fact that it is a Windows XP and thus IIS
5.1 (including the number of inbound connections available) not the IIS 6.0
you get on the Windows Server 2003 platform, and that in some cases the
performance of those PC/Laptops components may not be acceptable for
executing an application with significant performance requirements

Ah! Now I see your point. I'm sure it would function well enough
for development purposes, but no, I seriously doubt that any portable
computer would make a viable production server.

Thanks, Bruce. I wasn't sure if he was looking for something more
substantial though as Mike Brannigan pointed out, given the hardware is
essentially a PC there is no reason to assume that it will not support
running a web server application. I did think it begged the question of
exactly what he wanted to do and I thought that might be better answered in
the tabletpc newsgroup.
