Help! Does anyone know how you automatically include in a TOC a heading that is within a text box? Apparently, it can't "see" the TC field and won't include it in the final table. Thanks,

Hi:

I don't know if it's the best way, but I've had that problem and the way I
got around it was to create a special style called Heading 1 White. I put
the heading on the same page with the Text Box and since the font color was
"white" the outside heading didn't show up. In my case, I floated the text
box over the page text. I hope that helps.

Could you use a frame instead of a text box? Word can see text in frames.
There's a button on the Text Box tab of Format Text Box to convert it to a
frame.

Using a frame instead of a text box, as Suzanne suggested,
can make your work a lot easier, because a frame can
actually be stored as part of a paragraph style. In other
words, if using frames is an option for you, you could
modify the heading style to include frame formatting and
then simply apply the heading style and automatically get
it inside a frame!
