HI:

I have a presentation and have created a table of contents with a
series of words hyperlinked to the respective slides in the
presentation. However, this is only useful if the recipient of the
presentation opens the file and views it in slideshow mode.

Is there a way to create links or a table of contents that enables the
recipient to navigate through the presentation by clicking on links
wihtout running it slideshow mode?

Thanks,
Eric

This is not probably a complete solution, but try this:

1. Choose Slide Show | Set Up Show.

2. Select Browsed by an individual (window).

3. Also select the "Show scrollbar"option.

Now you can play the presentation with a partial PowerPoint interface.

Remember to turn this option off in the Set Up Show dialog box when you want
to present full screen.

No but why not send them a PPS rather than a PPT (ie, choose File, Save As,
PowerPoint Show rather than PowerPoint Presentation in the "Save As Type" box).

It'll automatically open into slideshow view.
