table cell text

After I select a font family and font size and fill a table cell with text,
my font selections won't stay put after the first cell. When I use the
"tab" key or put the curser in the next cell manually, I get my text put in
some kind of default font family and size and I have to re-specify the font
family and size over and over again in each cell. Very time consuming, and I
can't find any answer in the help section.

Select the table, not the cells, go to Format > Font and select your
settings. Then you can type in each of the cells and the font will be what
you set.

I have an important presentation to organize, and that problem was slowing
me down.
