Hi

I've had an Excel document open all day which conists of several sheets.
I've been clicking in and out of the doument, updating it and so on, without
a problem until just now. I clicked on a tab to open a different sheet but,
instead of opening, the 'sheet symbol' attatched itself to my cursor (as
though I wanted to move the sheet to a different place) and I can't do
anything with it. I've tried clicking another sheet to release my cursor but
it isn't working. Is this familiar to anyone?

More info on this peculiar problem. It's happening in all my Excel documents,
not just the one.

It seems like you have run out of memory. You need to save a file as Excel
saves all your keystrokes in the memory - so you can undo them. Do this long
enough and your computer will have too much data to process and the system
hangs.

Hi Pete

It's two months since I posted this problem and I am still experiencing it.
Only this time it happens as soon as I boot my pc and open the document.
Therefore, I'm not sure if you would still say I've run out of memory. Do you
know what else might be causing this? If it is a memory issue, how can I
resolve it?

Try bashing the scroll wheel on you mouse a few times. If that doesn't work,
try re-installing the drivers for it. I've not seen this with sheet tabs,
but have seen this issue selecting cells making it unable to release them,
could be the same issue
