If you're referring to the T worksheet function, then this is how it works:
=T(value)
If value is or refers to text, the text is returned. Therefore if cell A1
contains "foo" and cell A2 contains =T(A1) then cell A2 would show a value
of "foo".
If value refers to anything other than text, empty text ("") is returned.
