Why? That is a place, where spyware can reside waiting for occasion to
infect the system again.
It has to be checked in my opinion.

Why? MSAS scans my System Restore regularly, with no
problems. What problems are you experiencing? There's
obviously a reason you're not happy, why not share it
with us?

I've had good success in MWAS cleaning junk out of System Restore. Did you
have a particular problem with it?
