Today I copy the sysvol directory to another folder in
c:\restore for backup purpose. When I try to delete this
folder i receive an error that i cant do that. Everything
that I create in original sysvol or backup (c:\restore)
is replicated between then. How can i remove this?
I think that was create a link between this directory.
Anyone try this and know the solution?

Mario,

When you copy sysvol to another location on your disk you have
automatically
created a Sysvol junction point. What this means is that replication will
occur
between both sysvols now in addition to the regular replication that
happens across
DCs.

Now if you just delete this newly copied sysvol or the contents within,
this change
with replicate to the other sysvol and across DCS(!)

You need to delete the junction point with Linkd to effectivly resolve this
issue.

--Resolution

You need to navigate to the location that you copied the Sysvol to via a
command prompt
and actually be in the directory. (C:\restore)

Then you need to type something similar to the following:
C:\restore>linkd C:\restore\<Your Domain Name as it appears in
c:\winnt\sysvol\sysvol> /d

This will remove the link between the two directories. To test that you
have "broken" or deleted the link, place a .txt file in c:\restore and then
check the sysvol and make sure that the .txt file is not in the sysvol
itself.
