Hello all, if I create a file in the SYSVOL directory of the domain
controller, does this file automatically get replicated to other
domain controllers(in the same domain) also? If so what are the
sideeffects/disadvantages doing this? Can this file be
modified/deleted whenever possible?

I would appreciate any responses. Thank you

Yes,

Assuming that there are no replication issues ( normally
FRS or DNS related ).

What does this file do? But to answer in a generic
manner, yes. It can be modified/deleted 'whenever
possible'. The disadvantage to this depends on what that
particular file does! For example, if it were a logon
script ( call it logon.bat ) and you deleted it then there
might be isses getting mapped network drives and printers
and whatever else it did!

HTH,

SYSVOL contains all GPOs files and definitions + templates
if you loose it, you're in a big big big sh*t :)
ensure you save it in your backup process
