Systray

Why do my icons keep not appearing in the systray. I
have the apps running minimised in systray and I have
hide icons unchecked, but some icons do not appear.

What's wrong and can it be fixed or worked round?

Cheers

Many programs that run automatically at Startup and which
generate an icon, next to the clock, in the SysTray, have
an option to not-show the icon. Look in each particular
program for this option.

Is it possible you are referring to programs appearing on
the Taskbar (between the Start button and the Clock) ?
Or in one of the Toolbars (which populate themselves ON
the Taskbar) ?

Good Luck !

No!

I am refering to icons in the systray. Sometimes when I
they appear in the systray, other times (it appears to be
random) they don't, even though they are DEFINITELY still
running.

Here's something you won't see here much:

I don't know.

Why don't you re-post and specify the program names and as
much detail as you can muster. Then we'll both find out.

Good Luck !

I read other posts and believe this is the problem; things are set to hide
while inactive. To fix:
-Right click a blank area on Taksbar and click on "Lock the Taskbar" to
uncheck it if it is marked.
-Repeat right click, but this time, click on Properties. In the pop-up
dialog box, be sure Taskbar tab is the one active (on top), then click on
"Customize..." (lower-right)
-Next dialog has list of icons in Systray and their status. Click on ones
you want to always show which are listed differently. Note that to right of
a given item is a shaded area around its status with an upside-down
triangle. Click on triangle to get 3 choices.
-Click on "Always Show" for ones you want to.
-OK, Apply and OK your way out to set new arrangement.
-Redo blank area of Taskbar to lock it if desired.

HTH,

Done all that!

Even if I do not hide inactive icons they are still not present - apparently
randomly!?!
