Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help?

Up until about four days ago I had an icon in the systray that showed
two small monitors, they flashed when there was activity on my broadband
network, also when I used my backup dialup a second icon would appear
and flash with the data, I could also disconnect the dialup by right
clicking the icon.

Has anyone any idea how I get it back or if there are any programs
available that will do the same job.

Thanks

Gerald

If the icon you originally saw came from Windows XP, here's how to get
the icon to appear:

Control Panel > Network Connections > right-click on the icon for your
internet connection and choose Properties > check mark in 'Show icon in
notification area when connected'.

If the icon came from third party software...sorry, you'll have to ask
that software's technical support.

Thanks, they are back now but I can't figure out how they came to be
missing in the first place.

Do you get a "<" symbol in the System Tray? If so, then your system
tray has a setting to "Hide inactive icons.." This "system" seem to
respond strangely now and then.
