Does anyone have a link to a site the explains all the system warning beeps?
I'm setting up a new system with at A7N8X-X with a 2700+ processor. When I
power up the machine I get one beep, the system will stay powered up for
about 20 seconds then power itself off. The manul says nothing about the
system beeps and I can't find much on the web site.I would like to know what
that beep is trying to tell me,

Thanks in advanced,

George

Are you hearing the short beep that happens just after "power good"
is detected ? The 20 seconds might be enough time for the CPU to
overheat or something. Check that the CPU fan is spinning and
that the HSF and CPU itself are seated properly. I think an error code
would try to repeat itself.

One beep could be an Award BIOS code for a RAM error.

More diagnostic info is available by plugging in a PCI "POST card",
a device with two seven segment displays on it. If the processor
is running, the POST card will display the code of the current
module running in the BIOS. If the display on the POST card
freezes, then you know what routine was last executed before
the freeze (POST card comes with a lookup table).

If you are using PC400, put it in Dimm3 (I have a long beep when in
Dimm 1 or Dimm 2)

Hope this helps
