I'm going to guess you meant to say this:
I don't want the Live Messenger Logo in my system tray every time I open
Hotmail or select a folder, etc. Try this: rt. click
start>properties>notification area tab>customize>by messenger's icon on the
pulldown>hide.
This simple regedit should stop it from showing up when you open Hotmail:
Start regedit.exe. Backup the reg key this way: File>Export>key>save to
desktop or folder of your choice.
Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run.
Right-click the MSMSGS entry, and select Delete.
Click Yes to the confirmation.
If you need to, you can alternatively use this reg hack:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{F3A614DC-ABE0-11d2-A441-00C04F795683}\LocalServer32
Start by backing up this Registry key (as above), in case you want to
reenable it for some reason in the future.
Delete the entire line which displays the path to MSMSGS.EXE from the
"(Default)" String Value: double-click on it -> delete the entire Value data
line -> click OK or hit Enter.
Close Regedit.
MSN Messenger will stop loading from now on."
ADD-ON: Alternatively you can run this REG file (name it NOMSN.REG for
example) you can create using Notepad, by (double)-cliking on it in Windows
Explorer:
-----Begin cut & paste here-----
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{F3A614D
C-ABE0-11d2-A441-00C04F795683}\LocalServer32]
@=""
Good luck,
