Some program icons have gone missing from my systemtray.
The programs run but do not show. For example the dialup
icon no longer shows. This makes it very inconvenient to
end an internet session as I used to just click the icon
to disconnect. Also other programs that boot automaticaly
cannot be accessed. I used to have about six icons in the
systemtray. Has not affected all programs - just some. I
have tried reinstalling the programs - I have also
reinstalled Windows. No joy. Any suggestions.

Right click and empty spot on your taskbar > Properties > Taskbar (tab) >
Under "Notification Area" > click "Customize", on the Customize
Notifications dialogue > scroll down, click specific icon you want and click
in Behaviorm, menu and always show.
