A folder has suddenly appeared on my desktop name %
systemdrive% and I know it does not belong there. The
computer is still working but obviously this folder does
not belong here. I am unfamiliar with PC's compared to
Mac's and need to know if this folder can be moved to its
proper location and if so, where would that be? I am sure
this is a stupid question but I have
no clue. Thanks

The %systemdrive% is a system variable that holds the
value of your root drive letter. If you double click on it
I imagine if it is a shortcut you will get an explorer
windows with the contents of your c drive. if nothing
happens you can delete the folder from your desktop with
now worries in either case

Thanks for your post. Strange how it just appeared while
doing a virus scan.

When I double click, it opens to a folder named "Documents
& Settings" and if I double click on that I get
an "administrator"folder, only to double click and
get "Application Data" folder, which when I opens yields
the "microsoft" folder, which opens to reveal a System
Cerfificates folder, and inside this is a "My" folder, and
inside this are three folder that are all empty and are
called Certificates, CRL's and CTL's. All these are
empty. Do you think Norton's created it or how does this
occur?
