My computer keeps crashing and on reboot I either get a
message that says some sort of configuration file has been
corrupted, or that Registry information could not be
found. I don't have the origial Windows XP CDs because it
was pre-installed. Thanks

You need to reinstall Windows XP. If you don't have a Windows CD, you may
have a recovery CD from which you can reload Windows. If you have no CDs at
all, you may have a hidden partition on your hard disk that will allow you
to reload Windows. Only the vendor who sold you the computer knows if you
do.

Without any of these, you will need to purchase a copy of Windows XP.

First run a virus scan with updated anti-virus. Then try
the system file checker tool, click your start, and run,
then type in this; sfc /scannow, and with that space after
the sfc too.
