system32.exe missing

Recently, my computer was riddled with a virus after my son downloaded and
installed Kazaa. I cleaned the virus out but it seems that my virus software
removed the system32.exe file and now whenever I boot up I get an error
message about the file being missing.

How can I fix this ?

Also, for some reason, everytime I boot the "My Documents" folder opens on
start up and I have searched everywhere for the link that is making this
happen and can't find it. Anyone have any suggestions for this?

Thanks in advance...chrissy

There is no System32.exe in WindowsXP.

The System32.exe is a virus,

Run your Anti-virus program again and delete any reference to it.

Said file is not a valid Windows file, as you say, it was probably cleaned
out by your AV, but references to it still exist in the Registry or
whatever.
I have found (via Google) a pretty decent thread on the subject;

Thank you very much. I Googled as you suggested and found solutions to both
my problems.
