I am running Windows XP. I had some problems with viruses
and adware so I had to do a major overhaul by
uninstalling then reinstalling Windows XP. After I
installed all of the updates and SP1 I had to reinstall
many of my programs plus I installed antivirus (Norton
2004) software. I had some problems at first installing
the antivirus s/w but eventually it worked. I did some
runs of the s/w as well as reran spyware removal programs
to make sure eveything was clean for my next reboot.
After I did the reboot, the system came up saying "Cannot
find C:/Windows/Systeme32/system32.exe" yet everything
seems to work fine. I just close the error window and
keep working. I also am getting a "Cannot initalize
installation. (CRC)" error box which I can close and
continue working without any apparent problems as well. I
believe this is as a result of my first tries to install
the antivirus s/w.
I am trying to find a way to fix this. IF there are no
real problems with the system, is there a way to go into
a system file and remove the flag that initiates these
error boxes? If not what else can I do?
